The 7th graders studied the architect Jordan Mozer. We looked at his organic building designs (interior and exterior) and also at his paintings, sketches, and drawings. We all participated in a guided drawing as a preliminary for the two final pieces. These are done on watercolor paper with a pencil and an eraser... they will later add shading with colored pencils and finally a watercolor wash for the background. Well done 7th graders!

Jordan Mozer
The following images were inspired by Chicago based architect Jordan Mozer. His architecture, drawings, sketches, and the like are unusually twisted, round, spiraling, etc. You can see some of his interior work below:

The eighth grade students were taught how to draw lines going into, around, through, and behind. They had lots of practice and then had to come up with their own two drawings. They used watercolor, colored pencil, and pencils. As usual, the students here at JMS are amazing!! :)

Wrapped around ART!
The 7th graders have recently been learning about how to draw things that go in and out, through, behind, and in between... You can see more below. We discussed the architect (and designer) Jordan Mozer. He created his buildings and rug designs, fabric designs, and paintings all in a similar fashion.
