Star Books and Alebrijes (Mexican folk art)

The 6th graders are finishing up their star books! Some of them have begun to work on their Mexican Alebrijes (these are folk art creatures that are made up of different animals)!

I can't get enough...

These 6th graders are just amazing. The little folks have come around since the beginning of the year. They love this hands on project and are working so hard. Please see below for MORE pictures of their Alebrije Mexican Folk Art. They will be presenting these today along with their stories!

Alebrije Update...

They are coming along nicely!

Alebrije! Mexican Folk Art

The students studied Mexican folk art and then created their own. They each wrote wonderful stories about them. They presented their stories and the sculptures during class. The results were amazing!
