Star Books or Starbucks?!

The wonderful 6th graders have been studying book making... and their star books, which every time that I say it, they look up as if I'm offering them "Starbucks"... bless their hearts. These are great kiddos and they are working very hard at this tedious task!

Printmaking into Collage Books

The 8th graders looked at Durer's prints and paintings. They then created their own linoleum prints, made 10+ prints (some painted on them, changed up the color, printed them on old books, etc.). After signing these (name, title, and number), they traded with friends. They each had a stack of 10+ prints to put in their books. We studied bookmaking, collage, etc. They had to cut out two pieces of 5x5" cardboard, 5 sheets of 5x10 construction paper (folded in half, hole punched, yarn woven through). They then used a glue stick to put the prints in their books. They truly treasure these. We had few left behind in the art room!
