The Big City!

Seventh graders have been taking two point perspective notes for DAYS now. They are finally getting to put into practice all that they have learned. They are using handouts as well as their notes to complete their cityscapes. I will give them a few more days to add detail. These are in progress...

Some are accurate and others, well, not so much, but either way, they are trying and being creative! That's what it's all about.

Treehouses

The 8th graders worked on these a few weeks ago... three point perspective (building up from their one and two point perspective in sixth and seventh grade). The results were quite impressive. We discussed the career of an architect as well as an architectural renderer.

Cityscapes and Two-Point Perspective

The brilliant 7th graders are currently working on their two point perspective cityscape. They have taken days of notes (very step by step at this point) and are ready to embark on their own creative cities.

Bird's Eye View

Perspective is a huge part of the lessons at the school where I teach.  The images below were from teaching students how to first draw one point in the middle of the paper, to draw shapes around the point, to draw the lines all going to the vanishing point, to end the shapes with the same line as was at the top of the original shape, and then to add detail work and/or erase your lines. They come up with some fascinating scenes!
