That's Surreal!
Here are our surrealistic collages and the final drawings that the sixth graders are working on...
Again, they were inspired by Kush and Dali!

Kushy Art

The seventh graders have been studying Vladimir Kush, a Russian surrealist painter and sculptor. He is fascinating, along the lines of Dali. The students had to create 2-3 surrealistic collages and then grid them. They were then enlarged in colored pencil. The students really had to work on their skills with the gridding and redrawing. They worked on value and shading/blending with the colored pencils.

Dear Dali...
The students studied Salvador Dali, one of the most loved Surrealists of all time. We looked at many different Surrealist artists, and then created our own three Surrealistic collages using magazine images. We then grid these and redrew them, matching the color in Prismacolor pencils.
