Rhythm in Art!

I LOVE this project. It is a great way for the students to see how to really shade/blend with colored pencils. They have to look at the color (not just red for a car, but white, black, gray, reflections, etc.). I have the students trace a magazine picture, fill it in with the colors exactly as they are, and then place the pictures on top of each other, cutting out one piece at a time (no puzzles here!), and then they glue one of each on. They must use ALL strips, not throwing away half of them. They want the picture to be streeeetttttched to show rhythm and repetition in their art. Fun times in the art room!!
