The 6th graders are in the process of making their Fantasy Alebrije Mexican Folk Art Creatures! They are having so much fun creating the armatures out of cardboard, tape, and newspaper, and then they are using the paper mache to harden the creatures (and to make them smooth). We are using colored paper and also paint. They may bring in extra items to add when finished (yarn, cloth, etc.).
Not everyone LOVES the way that paper mache FEELS! :)
