This idea was taken from the wonderful art teachers at Mill Creek High School. I must give them credit! This is a lesson plan that involved looking at and studying color, real versus implied. The students have to trace a magazine image, color it as it really appears, and then cut that and the magazine image into strips. They are then glued, alternating, to the larger piece of paper. The results show great movement and rhythm. We discussed rhythm and repetition in the class before getting into this assignment.
