The Big City!

Seventh graders have been taking two point perspective notes for DAYS now. They are finally getting to put into practice all that they have learned. They are using handouts as well as their notes to complete their cityscapes. I will give them a few more days to add detail. These are in progress... 

Some are accurate and others, well, not so much, but either way, they are trying and being creative! That's what it's all about. 

 

Henna Introductory Hands

The 7th grade students looked at Henna tattoos and designs. As a very introductory project, to get to know the students and also for them to get to know the materials, I had them trace their hands, outline them in oil pastel and/or crayon, and also to watercolor the background. In the hand, they had to write in different fonts, supposedly, with thin and thick lines, ideas and words that describe or represent them, their personalities, things that they like to do, places that they want to go, etc. These have been very interesting to read and they look so layered and lovely. 

7th Grade Henna Personality Trait Hands

The 7th graders are working on their Henna inspired personality trait hands. They are writing in different fonts and using different sized and types of lines. They will use crayon, wax, watercolor, sharpie, and pencils to complete these.

Today, Our 7th graders will be experimenting with watercolors. They will be drawing their own socks on a piece of watercolor paper, making wonderful patterns in certain ways (curved, going in the right direction for looking rounded), and then using the watercolor to create stripes and patterns.
