She can't leave! But she is...

I heard the terrible news yesterday. Our sweet Miss Davidson is leaving on Tuesday. It is the end of her stay with us. I must say thank you to her for all that she's done. She has truly loved and cared for our students. She has inspired them in every way. She has introduced them to computer art techniques that they were not very familiar with. We will miss her, but know that she has a wonderful life ahead of her!

Brooke Davidson- Textile Queen!

Miss Davidson has this crew entranced. They are loving 1) having a new teacher for a while (fresh face and ideas!), 2) having someone younger (sad, but true!), 3) working on the wallpaper instead of regular paper, 4) redesigning the old patterns, 4) working on something abstract, versus real, and 5) experimenting with different materials! This is great. More to come...

More Textiles with Davidson

The AMAZING Miss Davidson (student teacher/artist extraordinaire) is working on her 1980's transitional design wallpaper project. Here are some of the images thus far... If you had only seen how "old" the wallpaper designs were, you would really understand! This is great exposure to a new career path for these students.

Textile Design

Again, the 8th graders are working with the student teacher/visiting artist Miss Brooke Davidson.  The students are starting to manipulate the designs from old wallpaper. It is so interesting watching them to combine various materials and resources. Their ideas are inspiring! They will continue to transform these designs over the next few weeks.

Below is Miss Davidson, our student teacher/visiting artist (on the right). She's great!
