The seventh graders studied Keith Haring and his magnificent contribution to social art, graffiti, symbolic sculptures/art, etc. We enjoyed watching a short video about his work with inner city youth. He helped to create many murals, working with inner city youth, at no cost. The students had to create their own symbols that represented them. I didn't get many pictures before they took their finished pieces home, but here are a few pictures of one sculpture:
