This week is CRCT testing. I won't speak my opinion of it here, but let's just say that the students definitely need a mind break. We learned about the art of creating Zentangles and how they help to clarify your mind. The students created their baselines and forms with a thicker sharpie and then began to fill them in with the thinner sharpies. They are trying to create a structured pattern in each section. There is something gratifying about filling in each area. Comments overhead:
"Why is the room so quiet?"
"I have a book about this at home. My aunt is an artist and gave me the book!"
"Can we do this next week?"
I also heard a precious child say "This is a nightmare!"... We can't please them all.
